Geelong based TAC is a Victorian Government owned organisation that aims to prevent road trauma, as well as compensate and rehabilitate injured Victorians to help them get their lives back on track.
In partnership with Victoria Police,VicRoads, the Department of Justice and Regulation and the Department of Health and Human Services, the TAC is implementing the State's Towards Zero road safety strategy. It is focussed on improving safety across roads, vehicles, travel speeds and people's behaviour.
The TAC is governed by a Board led by Penny Armytage and has a diverse executive team led by CEO Joe Calafiore. Joe is born and raised in Geelong and joined the TAC in 2008 bringing with him strong public policy and communications experience.
He is passionate about improving the region's future and has most recently been involved in a bid to get the federal agency Comcare relocated to Geelong.
